A wide range of products, devices and services were shown by exhibiting companies to help eateries get greener.

Many people assume that pizza boxes are recyclable. In fact, most boxes have recycling symbols on them and are traditionally made from corrugated cardboard. They are, in and of themselves, recyclable.

The prestigious award is given annually to a select number of individuals, companies and organizations that have “significantly contributed to improving environmental quality” throughout New York State.

The building was equipped with programmable light switches, thermostats, motion sensors, daylight sensors and an energy-monitoring device that communicates wirelessly.
